At the beginning of the school year, my son and I started a weekly tradition. Every Wednesday, we grab breakfast together at our local bagel shop. He's "in college now" as he likes to remind us (while he's still in high school) so his schedule gives us time in the mornings.
My sassy side tells me that he only meets up for breakfast because mom's paying and he's hungry. I mean, he's 17. I get it.
But my gooey heart side tells me that he wants to spend a moment with me, and that trumps my sass each time.
Life can be hectic. And for us, a tad upside down at the moment. But with the right intentions, we can create harmony throughout our day.
Since Thanksgiving is tomorrow, I'm feeling grateful for the little bits of life. They add up, one by one. New traditions with my family and finding joy in the everyday is where I'll be.
And bagels! I can't forget my deep appreciation for everything bagels.
How about you? What part of your everyday brings you joy?
Lets connect in the comments - Happy Thanksgiving!
Making breakfast for my grandson and occasionally his sister brings me joy. He comes to my house during the week for breakfast before walking to school. That 45 minute interaction starts my day in a happy joyful way. He's such a goofball, we tell jokes and puns to one another. He goes to school happy and I start my day with a smile.
Hope you and your family have a wonderful blessed Thanksgiving.
