Along Route 4 in Owings, Maryland, you'll find a treasure trove of local flavors and goods at a place called Will & Veronica's Farm Stand.

As you pull into the parking lot, you're greeted with local flare.

What sets this place apart is that they run a multi-faceted operation from their farm store. Not only do they offer local meats, cheeses, produce, sunflowers and more; they also operate a seafood market and lavender farm too. Well-known Beach Docks Crabs & Market, as well as Lovemore Lavender, can all be found at this one location at 1414 Georgianna Lane.

You're greeted by Mary Sweeney, co-owner of Beach Docks Crabs & Market. She plans on taking over the produce stand in the fall, while Will and Veronica enjoy their upcoming retirement. With that said, the couple will continue to harvest and hand-craft a wonderful assortment of lavender honey and other lavender infused products.

The lavender farm has been around for 23 years; and before that; a tobacco farm. All of their lavender is grown from seed, with 350 plants total. You can even purchase their lavender plants for continued enjoyment.

Mary suggested having the lavender honey in tea. She also enjoys it straight up.

Just a teaspoon of lavender honey a day is the best way to do it!

- Mary Sweeney

This place is a must stop. They offer a variety of goods and are kind folks. We've been enjoying the local Cherokee heirloom tomatoes, lavender honey, lavender pillow spray and fresh blackberries, picked straight from their farm. Hop on Route 4, enjoy some country air and stop at Will & Veronica's. You won't be disappointed!
